Presentation

     PhD student at the Laboratoire Magmas et Volcans, University Blaise Pascal (France), I am working in the Program 2 of the ClerVolc project (Internal structure and deformation of volcanic edifices). My research aims to study the morphology and inner structure of volcanic edifices, in order to better constrain their eruptive dynamism and their evolution.

     I am currently working on the multi-method geophysical imaging of a complex lava dome, the Puy de Dôme volcano, located in the Chaîne des Puys volcanic field (French Massif Central France). This volcano has been selected as an experimental site for muon imaging development and improvement as part of the TOMUVOL project. The main objective of this PhD work is to provide a precise geological model of the internal structure of this dome. For that, several geophysical surveys have been performed since 2011: Electrical Resistivity Tomography, gravity and magnetic measurements, self-potential.

     A wide geophysical dataset is now available for the lava dome and its close surroundings. Data treatments as well as inversion processes have provided new geophysical models of the study area. A geophysical interpretation of those results will lead to precise the geological model of the Puy de Dôme growth and evolution.
